Junior Elijah Scott was nominated and selected as a Net-Zero Hero by the City of Austin. Net-Zero Heroes are individuals around Austin that are working in their own ways to advance the Office of Sustainability’s mission and vision.
LASA Represented in the Olympics
Couldn’t be more proud of Yaseen Abdalla, Class of 2019, who represented Sudan in the Men’s Olympic Marathon. He finished 33rd, about 5 minutes behind the winner in a very difficult course and set a national record for his country. Keep going Yaseen, we’re cheering you on!

Heller Awards

Rowing Raptors
Congratulations to the LASA students on the rowing team, whose varsity women’s team, with LASA Seniors Marin Maycotte and Samantha Morse, last week won the Texas State Championship in the premier event, the women’s 8, with a winning time of 6:50.9 Woo-hoo!!
FBLA Dominates at State
April 10-12, FBLA went to Galveston to compete in the FBLA State Championship (State Leadership Conference). We had a fantastic showing with an astounding 55 students who placed high enough at State to qualify for Nationals in Orlando this summer! Please congratulate the following students:
