Raptor Water Polo Update
LASA Water Polo continued our amazing season during the Area Playoffs on Tuesday, 10/8.
LASA Tennis is on a roll!
District, Bi-District and now Area Champs, the team heads into a competitive match up on 10/15 against rivals Georgetown in Region 3 quarterfinals. It's time to bring the LASA spirit and join us to cheer on the team at 9:00 am at Westwood High School tennis courts.
Choir at Bass
Last Thursday evening, The LASA Choir had the unique opportunity to perform with the Grammy Award Winning “Conspirare” Choir under the direction of the phenomenal composer and conductor Craig Hella Johnson at Bass Concert Hall.
Orchestra Students Make Region 18
Please congratulate our newest members of the Region 18 Orchestras! The students have been hard at work preparing etudes over the summer as well as participating in mock auditions with peers and attending guest artist workshops.
Cross-Country Success!
Many weeks of hard work at early morning practices paid off for the LASA Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams at the District 24-5A Championship Meet on Thursday. The Boys Varsity and JV Teams both successfully defended their District titles.
45 LASA HS Seniors Named 2025 National Merit Semifinalists
The Liberal Arts and Science Academy High School is proud to announce the names of its 45 semifinalists in the 2024-25 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Raptor Diver an NCAA “Top Recruit”
LASA Swim and Dive would like to celebrate junior, Elizabeth Bircher, who received Honorable Mention in a recent Top 10 NCAA Dive Recruits List for the class of 2026. Elizabeth is a Varsity 1meter Diver for LASA as well as a 3meter and Platform Diver for Longhorn Aquatics.
Region 18 Jazz Success
Congratulations to our students who auditioned for the TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) Region 18 Jazz Band! Approximately 100 students auditioned from 13 high schools across our region.
Raptor Water Polo
LASA water polo is on fire this season! We’ve played two district tournaments and the girls are tied for first place with Anderson HS. After losing to Anderson in the first tournament, the girls took an early lead in Friday’s second matchup and defeated the Trojans 6-5.

Banned Books Op-Ed Contest Winner
LASA sophomore Sadie Sarrat has taken third place in the Austin Library Foundation's Save the Books Op-Ed Contest. The theme was "what the freedom to read means to me." Congratulations, Sadie! Way to represent!
