LASA SAT FAQ

What is the SAT School-Day?
The SAT is a standardized exam created by the College Board that is often used by colleges in the admissions process. Unlike most SAT tests, the SAT School Day is given at school and is available at no cost to students.  The SAT School-Day does not include the essay.

Who will take the SAT School-Day?
11th grade students are eligible to take the SAT School-Day on March 04 at LASA.

How do we sign up? How much does it cost?
We ordered tests for all students in  the 11 grade and there is no need to sign up. The cost of the SAT is covered by AISD.

Do I need to bring a calculator?
Students may use their own acceptable calculator on test day or take advantage of the graphing calculator built directly into the testing application. If you choose to bring your own calculator to use throughout the Math section, there's more to it than making sure you've got a fresh set of batteries. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE

What device can I use to take the SAT School Day Exam?
You will take the exam using the Bluebook app. Bluebook can run on a Windows laptop or tablet, a Mac laptop, an iPad, or an AISD Chromebook. For more information about Bluebook, CLICK HERE. If you need to borrow an AISD Chromebook the day of the exam, SIGN UP HERE.

What is the schedule for testing?
All 11th graders must report to campus by 8:00 AM on March 4th. Testing rooms will begin testing at 8:15 AM, and late arrivals will not be permitted. All other grade levels will follow their regular schedule that day. Only 11th-grade testing students will have access to the testing areas.
After lunch, classes will resume in the North Annex. However, some rooms will still be in use for testing, so hallways will remain quiet zones until indicated otherwise.
Most students will complete testing between 11:00 and 11:30 AM and will be released for lunch at the normal time, 11:40 am. The cafeteria will extend lunch until 12:45 PM for Juniors with time accommodations.

What should I bring test day?
Two number 2 pencils with erasers (no mechanical pencils or separate erasers)
Approved scientific or graphing calculator, if you are using your own. Check this list to review approved calculators
Light jacket or sweater
Water bottle and snacks  (eating is not permitted during testing, but allowed during scheduled breaks)

Will my student receive their accommodations?
11th grade students who have accommodations formally through College Board will receive those accommodations. Your student will be sent a pass prior to the test indicating their testing room location. If your student receives campus accommodations, but has not been approved for College Board accommodations, we cannot provide SAT accommodations.  If your student received accommodations for the PSAT, they should be set up to receive SAT School-Day Accommodations.  If you’re unsure about your accommodation status, you can email laurie.park@austinisd.org.
