Latin Club braves Houston, fails to return empty-handed
Last Saturday, January 13, the LASA Latin Club competed at Rice Certamen in Houston and achieved stellar results. Congratulations to LASA's Intermediate certamen team, Advanced certamen team, and all individuals who participated in the academic testing!
LASA Students Advance to Regional Level for Texas PTA Reflections
We are pleased to announce that artwork created by our LASA students has been selected to advance to the regional level of Reflections through Texas PTA in the High School Visual Arts, Photography and Dance categories.

Youth & Government District Conference
LASA performed exceptionally well this past Saturday at this year's YMCA Youth and Government District Conference. We had the largest student delegation and many students won awards. They all represented LASA so well and have much to be proud of.
LASA 9th Grader Selected as a Foyle Young Poet of the Year
LASA Freshman, Margot Gothard, has been selected by poets Jonathan Edwards and Jane Yeh, as one of the commended 85 Foyle Young Poets of the Year, selected from over 15,800 entries by young poets from across the world.

LASA ranked #32 in the nation, #4 in Texas on US News & World Report Ranking 2023-2024
Today, the U.S. News & World Report released the 2023 Best High School Rankings. LASA ranks #32 in the nation and #4 in the state of Texas. All Rankings: #32 in National Rankings; #4 in Texas High Schools, #1 in Austin, TX Metro Area High Schools, #1 in Austin ISD High Schools, and #34 in STEAM High Schools. Taken from the US World & News Report website, there were only slight changes to these schools' overall scores, which are based on the following six factors.

Student Leader Highlight: Vedant Sangani
Each summer, Bank of America holds its Student Leader Program where hundreds of community-minded high schoolers gain work experience with local nonprofits through a paid eight-week internship.
LASA Sophomore, Kai Benton, places 1st in Roman History & Ancient Geography
This summer, LASA sophomore Kai Benton attended the National Junior Classical League convention in Atlanta, Georgia. He placed 1st in Roman History and Ancient Geography, 3rd in Mottoes, and 5th in Mythology.
