Overview

LASA Cross-Country is a tight-knit community of runners of all levels who train and race together. Whether you are a brand-new runner, seasoned veteran, or athlete from another sport trying to stay in shape, everyone is welcome on the team. We have both competitive and non-competitive options for team members. The JV and varsity teams train to race 5K courses (about 3.1 miles) throughout the fall.

In recent years, our varsity teams have been very successful at the local, regional, and state levels. In 2019, the girls' varsity team placed second at district and third at regionals, marking the first time the girls’ team qualified for the UIL 5A State Championship meet. The 2020 LASA Girls Varsity team were district and regional champs and posted strong performances at the State Meet. The boys' varsity team won district and regionals in 2018, and the team took second place at the State Meet, with runners placing 2nd and 3rd overall. In 2019 and 2020 the team also sent boys as individuals to the State championship, with a LASA runner placing in the top ten in the state both years.

Our LASA Cross-Country Team takes pride in its competitive success while also maintaining a focus on providing a fun, supportive community for all who want to join. If you have any questions or want more information, please contact us.
