Theater & Theatre Tech

LASA Theatre Website

The Alley Cat Players, LASA's extracurricular theater troupe, presents several productions a year under the guidance of Theater Arts teacher Mr. Jason Escandell. Students may elect to study acting in Theater I or stagecraft in Technical Theater I first, followed by the varsity classes. We offer varsity levels 2-4 in acting and tech. While some of the Alley Cat Players' productions take place in the classes, almost all of the after-school mainstage shows are open to everyone! We'd love to have you performing onstage with acting or join the behind-the-scenes fun with tech theatre! Some of ACP's most recent productions include Legally Blonde The Musical, Puffs, Sweeney Todd, Marisol, The Island of Dr. Moreau, and many more!

LASA offers Theatre Arts I-IV and Theatre Tech I-IV

Acting Theatre I is an introduction to acting where time is spent breaking down the art of acting and storytelling through body, voice, and mind. Students will play games and work on ensemble building. In the varsity theatre class, levels 2-4, students work on furthering their acting skills, put on a main stage show, and hone their education based on a theme of storytelling.

Tech Theatre I is an introduction to design and construction in the theatrical arts.  Students study design, scenery, lighting, sound, costumes and props.  In advanced levels 2-4 , students design and construct for actual shows.

These courses do fulfill the fine arts credit for graduation
