The LASA Debate Team are State Champions! 

LASA BD (Eleanor Barrett and Jack Dollinger) and LASA BS (Christian Bohmer and Anita Sosa) closed out the final round of the Texas Forensic Association (TFA) State Championship.

LASA Archery Qualifies for Nationals

The LASA Archery Team competed at the State Tournament as a first year team and came in the top 20 qualifying them for Nationals!

In Battle of the Books – LASA is Victorious!

The Raptors Battle of the Books team won on Friday March 22nd in an intense competition against 8 other AISD and 3 Pflugerville ISD high schools.  The competition consisted of teams reading ten titles, mostly recommended by the teams themselves, and then competing over 2.5 hours in various rounds

The Vertikills Are Headed to Nationals!

The Vertikills Ultimate Frisbee A team recently traveled to Nashville to participate in their first out-of-state tournament, the River Campus Classic (RCC).

LASA Archery State Bound

Congratulations to the LASA Archery Team for qualifying for state at the Birds Barbershop Texas State Qualification Tournament.  LASA took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in female high school archers and took 2nd in male high school. Also took Grand Champion Female.

First Chinese GrandMaster Language Contest Winners

LASA Chinese students recently took part in the inaugural 1st Chinese Grandmaster Language Competition (CGLC), sponsored by Dahua Chinese, World Journal, and the Chinese Language Teacher Association, USA.

LASA Raptor Choir wins UIL Sweepstakes and more

On Monday, March 4, students from the LASA choir participated in the Region 18 UIL Concert and Sight-reading Festival at Hays CISD Performing Arts Center. This year, LASA entered three Varsity choirs. The Varsity Treble earned an “excellent” rating in both concert and sight-reading.

LASA Japanese Students Success in Nengajo Contest

Nengajo are greeting cards sent during the New Year in Japan. They are commonly exchanged between friends, family, neighbors, and businesses that had good a relationship during the previous year and to express their gratitude in the hopes of preserving good relations in the year ahead. 

Austin Regional Japanese Speech Contest

AISD Japanese programs participated in the Austin Regional Japanese Speech Contest. Students' hard work in studying Japanese was evident in their presentations and impressed the judges. The first and second winners are invited to the Japanese State Speech Contest at Rice University.
