All students who had submitted their LASA Application by 8 AM this morning (1/7/26) have been sent an invidualized application status email. This email was sent from donotreply@lasahighschool.org. If you had submitted your application by 8 AM this morning, but haven't received the email please search your inboxes for it, and check your spam folder manually. Then ask anyone whose email address you listed on your application to do the same before reaching out to LASA.
As a reminder, AISD student email addresses cannot receive emails from the donotreply inbox. So there is no point in looking for the email in your student email inbox.
All students who had submitted the LASA Interest form by 8 AM this morning have been sent an invididual teacher recommendation status email. (Students who have submitted their LASA Application were not sent this email, as the teacher recommendation status is visible in the application status email.) This email was sent from donotreply@lasahighschool.org or admissions@lasahighschool.org. (Due to limits of the number of bulk emails that can be sent from one email, we had to use two different email addresses to send this email to everyone.
As with the application status email, if you don't see it in your inbox, make sure you:
- Search your inbox for any emails sent from either of those email addresses
- Manually check your spam folder (emails there will not show up in a search)
- Have everyone whose email was submitted on the interest form check their inboxes in the same way
Do this BEFORE you reach out to LASA.
As a gentle reminder, LASA can only send emails to email addresses that have been shared with us (either via the application or the interest form), and only to email addresses that were spelled correctly all the way through.
If your teacher says they have submitted your recommendation, but the email shows it as not submitted, it is likely:
- the teacher submitted the recommendation after 8 AM this morning
- the AISD student ID number or name they used does not match the one in our records
For AISD students, we match recommendations to students by their ID number. For students without AISD student ID numbers, we use their name. Typos (either by the teacher on the recommendation form, or by whoever filled out the interest form), or nicknames make it hard for us to match.
If it's the latter, there is no need for you to let us know until you have submitted your LASA Application. We do a more thorough search for any student who has submitted their application.
IMPORTANT! If you received the teacher recommendation status email and a submitted teacher recommendation does not show, DO NOT email LASAadmissions with your name/nickname. Also, DO NOT ask your teacher to resubmit their recommendation.
We are trying out the teacher recommendation status emails as a way to help reduce anxiety. But if they create more anxiety for families, and more work for LASA and your teachers, we will have to discontinue them. Students who submit their LASA Application will still learn the status of their teacher recommendation as part of the application status email.
