Now that summer is here, our fabulous LASA Raptor Librarain, Ms. Switek, would like to invite all students who will be new to LASA this fall to come to a New to LASA Book Club event!
This summer we’re reading Legendborn by Tracy Deonn. The summer book club gives your student an opportunity to read something fun and then to come on campus for an hour and meet other new students plus get to know some older students who serve as the literary leaders. It is low stakes, just reading and chatting about a book for a half hour then having popsicles in our main courtyard. Meet some new friends, get a little familiar with campus, and read a great book: win/win.
We also have current LASA parents hosting an extremely informal meet and greet at the same time, so parents are welcome to drop/pick up their kiddo or stay and chat with current parents, and maybe get some questions answered. Parents will be meeting in a separate space from book club, in our college center.
I’m hosting the book club 3 different times over the summer, so pick a single date that works for your family and sign up at LASA.austinschools.org/school/signups so I know how many popsicles to buy!
