Congratulations to the members of Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble on their Superior performances at the Region 18 UIL Concert & Sightreading Evaluation earlier this month at the AISD Performing Arts Center On Stage, each group performed their own program of three pieces for a panel of three judges, plus our parents and families.
In Sightreading, each group had 7-10 minutes to prepare a piece they'd never seen before and then perform it for a different panel of judges, plus parents, and families.
Students were evaluated on Tone, Technique, and Musicianship.

The prestigious Sweepstakes Award is given to bands who receive Superior Ratings both on Stage and in Sightreading, demonstrating their preparation of challenging repertoire and their ability to apply their training to new music in a short time frame.

We're very proud of and happy for the band! They showed tremendous growth from the beginning of the semester until now and truly earned their success! Go Raptors!
