On Monday, March 4, students from the LASA choir participated in the Region 18 UIL Concert and Sight-reading Festival at Hays CISD Performing Arts Center. This year, LASA entered three Varsity choirs.
The Varsity Treble earned an “excellent” rating in both concert and sight-reading.
The Varsity TBB earned an “excellent” in concert and a “superior” rating in sight-reading.
The Varsity Mixed earned “Sweepstakes”!!! This means they earned “superior” ratings in both concert and sight-reading. This is the first time LASA Choir has won Sweepstakes at UIL!!! This accomplishment is a direct result of the commitment and determination of our students. The mixed ensemble isn’t a scheduled class. Students meet after school and during lunch for rehearsals.
