Welcome to the LASA Class of 2028 and Other Newly accepted students

Upcoming Dates

  • World Language Placement Exam Information:  New students who are eligible to enter into Level III for any of our world languages (American Sign Language, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Latin or Spanish) are required to take a placement exam.  Students planning to take Level 1, 2, 4 or higher in any language do not need to take the online placement test and can disregard this section.

    • New students can take the online placement exam on Tues., June 4, OR Tues., July 23.  Students who register for any Level III world language will receive an email with test information the day before the scheduled test dates.

    • The test will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; most students will finish testing in approximately two hours. The test itself is untimed, but please begin your test early enough to finish before the test closes at 4 p.m.

  • New Student Orientation (NSO): Thursday, July 25, 2024 & Tuesday, July 30, 2024

    • All new students are expected to attend NSO. Students will receive important materials and meet fellow students.

    • 9th graders with last name A-L will attend on Thurs., 7/25.  

    • 9th graders with last names M-Z will attend on Tues., 7/30. 

    • All incoming 10th, 11th, and 12th graders will attend Tues., 7/30 regardless of last name. 

    • Students should arrive at 8:15 a.m. for check-in; orientation begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 2:45 p.m. Pizza will be provided; students are welcome to bring their own snacks/lunch, a lock for their locker and a bag to carry textbooks and Chromebook.

Virtual Choice Sheet Meeting Tuesday For Those That Missed Saturday's

April 8, 2024

If you missed the in-person choice sheet event last Saturday, plan to attend this final (mandatory) opportunity to select your classes for next year.


It is mandatory for all new students to have their choice sheets completed by Tuesday night at 10pm. Choice sheets can only be submitted once. If you completed it at Saturday's event, you are done and can ignore the rest of this message.

Elective Fair & Choice Sheet Event This Saturday, April 6, 2024

This Saturday, April 6th, 2024 is the in-person LASA Choice Sheet Event, where all newly accepted students will select their courses for next school year. As we mentioned last week, you must attend one of the two MANDATORY choice sheet meetings. If you can't make it this Saturday, please attend the virtual meeting on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024 from 6-7pm, where only the choice sheet event will be livestreamed (no elective fair) via YouTube.

You may unsubscribe at the bottom of the email that was sent to you at any time. Just know that this will be our main system to communicate with you over the next couple of months. LASA doesn’t send much information between now and school starting in August. But when we do, it will be updated here.
