I was born and raised here in Austin, I graduated from LBJ in 2017.

After graduation I went to cosmetology school @ Baldwin Beauty, I love all things beauty. Shortly after being behind the chair I quickly realized that I did not want to lose my passion and decided to only do it for fun!

I have a beautiful baby girl who is a little over 1. Her name is Dakota Rae, I am very family oriented I come from a big family: 5 siblings, 4 nieces, and 2 nephews 

During my free time I typically am somewhere watching my youngest brother play travel basketball or spending quality family time. My interests include watching sports, baking, and crafting. I am excited to be a part of LASA.

I am the Registrar at LASA. Prior to working for AISD, I spent 12 years as a Registrar in higher education. I love being a part of a student's educational path and watching their hard earned credits grow from their freshman to senior year. But the best part is handing them their high school diploma as they walk across the stage for the final time.

I have lived in South Austin since 2000 previously having lived in California, New Mexico, Colorado and Washington State. My son, daughter in law and two grandsons live in San Francisco, CA and my daughter, son in law and two granddaughters live in Keller, TX.

I enjoy spending time with my family and taking long unplanned road trips. Oh, and a fun fact is that in 1967 my family was featured in a full page Maytag washing machine advertisement in Life Magazine!!!! 

Ms. Kerr has a BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Stanford University, a JD with a special interest in Intellectual Property law from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law and whatever degree she needed to teach math also from UT where she was awarded the RL Moore Grant for Innovation in Secondary Mathematics and Science Teaching. 

Ms. Kerr did a short stint as an attorney before realizing she liked law school better than she liked practicing law.  This is when she decided to teach.  She’s taught middle school math up through Algebra 1 and Geometry at Hopewell Middle School, St. Andrews Episcopal School and The Girls’ School of Austin. 

She enjoys both athletic and artistic pursuits and can be seen on various volunteer committees for Stanford University and Westlake High School.  She is also fluent in Mandarin. 

I started with LASA in September, 2016 as the library clerk. This was back when we still shared a building with LBJ and the two schools had different bell schedules. In the spring of 2017, I moved over to be the LASA receptionist, and I have been the principal’s secretary since the spring of 2019.

I was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. There, I graduated from Stockholm University with a Bachelor's Degree in English (focus on Literature) and one in Cinema Studies.

In 2014, I married the love of my life (the other Ms. Koerth) and started the immigration process to move to the US. After a year and a half of bureaucracy and waiting, I was able to finally move to Austin, leaving behind a burgeoning career in film and television. (Solidly behind the camera, though I did have a small cameo in 100 Code.)

My first American job was as a ""legal advisor"" at a call center, where I settled a couple of cases out of court for $12.50/hr. After spending most of my life using public transit, I bought my first ever car in the summer of 2016, a ‘99 Cadillac Seville which eventually fell apart around me in 2020.

Now I live with my wife and too many cats!

I am the building manager at LASA and this is my 13th year.  Prior to LASA, I worked at Lanier High School for 15 years. I have two beautiful, smart daughters, Samantha and Zoey.

I was born in Rio Grande Valley and moved to Austin in 1998, where I have lived ever since. I plan to move back to the Rio Grande Valley once I retire. I also visit Cozumel, Mexico—my favorite beach—every year.

Elizabeth Switek has been the LASA librarian since 2020 after being the librarian at Austin Discovery School for fifteen years before that. She has a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College in Geology with a concentration in Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology and a MS from the University of Minnesota in Archaeological Geology where she concentrated in the provenance of ceramics using microscopic and nuclear analysis. After working in cultural resource management she decided to go to library school at UT-Austin where her MLIS was in archives and records management. She was the Lloyd Bentsen Archivist at UT and Corporate Records Manager at SEMATECH, but after having children she decided to get certified as a School Librarian.

Ms. Switek is a proud mom of two LASA graduates and lives with her husband and cat. She enjoys reading, running, gardening, knitting, cooking, and watching unenlightened tv. She was a globe-trotting Air Force brat and still loves to travel, particularly to Asia, Colorado and Wisconsin.

I was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and I came to Austin ISD from the private sector. I have 4 siblings, and I am very family oriented. I love to travel, write, and listen to music. Having no children of my own, working at LASA gives me the opportunity to connect with many students and include them as a part of my world. Welcome back, and I look forward to assisting you in the 2020-2021 school year!

Worked at LBJ High School before coming to LASA in 2011 and have been here ever since. I was Guidance Secretary when I first came to LASA and then graduated to Attendance Specialist in 2015.

In my down time I like to watch baseball, college football, boxing, soccer and UFC. I'm a huge Houston Astros and Longhorn fan. I workout with Camp Gladiator about 4-5 times a week. I love to travel, especially to the beach. I have seen the beaches of Cancun, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii and hopefully will get to see more beaches soon.
